Ratchet and Clank Qforce
(Like and sharing game for your friends)
Ratchet & Clank Qforce — known in North America as Full Frontal Assault — arrived in 2012 as a compact, tower-defense-flavored twist on the series' familiar third-person action. We pulled the EUR build (BCES01594) and the PSN package, ran both through a Windows-based emulation setup, and spent several sessions with the campaign and splitscreen modes. This page collects everything you need: the working links, the update packages, and an honest breakdown of what the game does well and where it stumbles.

What Qforce Actually Plays Like
Qforce swaps the sprawling planetary exploration of A Crack in Time for something tighter and more tactical. Each level hands you a base with a generator to defend, and you alternate between two modes of play. In the first, you run around as Ratchet or Clank, collecting bolts and capturing nodes on the map. In the second, you spend those bolts on turrets, barriers, and mines, then survive a wave-based assault from the Grungarian forces.
After downloading and running the first handful of stages, our team found the rhythm surprisingly addictive. The capture-and-fortify loop pushes you to make quick decisions: do you spend bolts on a minigun turret now, or save for a heavier cannon before the next wave? The series' classic weapon roster — the Combuster, the Buzz Blades, and a few Qforce-specific gadgets — keeps the combat familiar, and the humor lands more often than not. Cutscenes are short and punchy, which suits the pick-up-and-play structure.
Where it falls short is variety. The maps reuse a small set of layouts, and by the third planet the wave patterns start to feel predictable. We also noticed that the camera can get crowded when you fight near your own turrets during splitscreen, which makes the co-op experience slightly chaotic. It is still fun with a friend on the couch, but solo players may tire of the repetition sooner.
Key Features
- Hybrid tower-defense and third-person action gameplay built around base defense.
- Solo campaign plus online and splitscreen co-op for two players.
- Weapon upgrades funded by bolts collected during exploration phases.
- Node capture mechanics that reward aggressive map control.
- Insomniac's signature comedic tone and cast of returning characters.
- Released as part of the Ratchet & Clank 10th Anniversary celebration.
Pros & Cons
- Pros: Fast, focused missions that suit short sessions; genuinely funny writing; solid co-op with a friend; familiar weapons that feel good to use.
- Cons: Limited map variety; camera crowding in splitscreen; less content than a full mainline entry; the defense phases can drag if you over-build.

Below are the same links from the original release page, kept intact so nothing breaks. The EUR disc build (BCES01594) covers thirteen languages, and the PSN package (NPEA00378) is the digital route. If you are comparing this to the earlier entries, our Ratchet and Clank Trilogy page covers the original three games in one package.

Version Freshness and Trust Signals
The two update packages on this page — 1.04 and 1.05 — are the latest patches we could confirm for the BCES01594 disc build. Apply 1.05 if you want the most current state; it supersedes 1.04. The publisher is Sony Computer Entertainment, and the developer is Insomniac Games, so the files trace back to official PlayStation network origins rather than repacks. We cannot verify malware status from the input data, so scan anything you download before running it, and keep the password noted above for the PSN package.
In my experience, the PSN route installs faster than the disc image, but the disc build is more forgiving if you need the multi-language assets. If you are new to the series, start with the 2016 Ratchet and Clank reimagining before jumping into this spin-off.
