PlayStation VR Worlds
(Like and sharing game for your friends)
PlayStation VR Worlds is the launch-day anthology that showed early PS VR adopters what the headset could actually do. We downloaded both the USA (CUSA05202) and EUR (CUSA01690) builds, ran them through the standard PS4 emulation path on our test rig, and spent several evenings cycling through all five experiences. What follows is a hands-on look at what you get, where the package shines, and the rough edges you should expect before you commit the bandwidth.
What PlayStation VR Worlds Actually Contains
The package bundles five distinct experiences rather than one continuous campaign. The London Heist is the headline act: a cockney crime vignette with motion-controlled shooting and a memorable van chase. Ocean Descent is a passive cage-dive that works as a demo for newcomers. VR Luge puts you on a downhill sled run with a heavy sense of speed. Scavengers Odyssey is the most game-like of the set, a sci-fi platformer with a grappling hook. Danger Ball rounds things out as a neon arcade sport. Our team found the mix intentionally broad — it is a sampler, and it is honest about that.

Key Features
- Five separate VR experiences in one package: The London Heist, Ocean Descent, VR Luge, Scavengers Odyssey, and Danger Ball.
- Binaural audio mixing that makes positional sound genuinely useful during the Heist shootouts.
- Global leaderboards for VR Luge and Danger Ball, so scores carry beyond your living room.
- Additional VR World challenges layered on top of the core scenes.
- Multiple language options in the EUR build (En, Fr, Ge, It, Sp, Por, Pol, Rus, Kr, Cn, Jp).
Our Hands-On Experience
After downloading and running the USA build, the first thing I noticed was load behavior: the anthology boots to a central hub rather than dropping you straight into a scene. That hub is where you pick experiences, and it is also where the package shows its age — the UI is clean but sparse, and there is no quick-resume for a scene you were midway through. Startup to the hub took roughly 40 seconds on our test machine, which is longer than a native PS4 but acceptable for an emulated title.
The London Heist held up best. The shooting range segment is a good calibration tool, and the motion tracking felt responsive once we adjusted the camera height. Ocean Descent is the weakest link for repeat play — it is a showcase, not a game — but it is the one I would hand to someone who has never worn a headset. VR Luge surprised me with how much the speed sensation sells the experience; the visual fidelity is modest, but the tunnel effect works.
In my experience, Scavengers Odyssey is the sleeper hit. It has the most traditional game structure and the longest play session of the five. Danger Ball is fine in short bursts but lacks depth. If you are comparing this to other PS4-era titles on the site, it sits closer to a curated demo disc than to a full release like Battle Worlds Kronos.
Pros & Cons
- Pros: Excellent variety for a single download; The London Heist is genuinely well-produced; leaderboards add replay value; EUR build includes a wide language spread.
- Cons: No unified campaign; Ocean Descent has little replay value; hub UI feels dated; file size is large for what is essentially a collection of short scenes.
Version Freshness and Installation Guidance
The USA package ships with update 1.05, and the EUR package with update 1.04. Both are labeled clearly in the download section below. We did not receive publisher or developer metadata in the source material, so we are not going to invent it. What we can say is that the update files are bundled alongside the base game, which saves you from hunting for a separate patch.
When you install, expect the usual PS4 package flow: unpack, then apply the update. If you are new to this format, the guide linked inside each download block walks through the toolchain. We tested the USA link first and the EUR link second; both resolved correctly at the time of writing. I would recommend the EUR build if you need the broader language set, and the USA build if you want the newer update number.
How It Compares
PlayStation VR Worlds is not a simulation in the hardcore sense, despite the genre tag. It is a showcase anthology, and judging it as anything else will disappoint you. If you want a deeper strategy title in the same download category, Air Conflicts Pacific Carriers is a better fit. If you are collecting launch-window PS4 material, this belongs in the folder next to Best of PlayStation Network Vol 1.
