Peggle PSN interface on Windows

Peggle PSN is the PlayStation Network edition of PopCap's ball-bouncing puzzle hit, released in 2009 and packaged here as the NPUA30005 USA build. We downloaded the package, ran it through our usual checks, and spent a few evenings clearing boards to see how the console port holds up. If you remember the PC original fondly, the short version is this: the core loop is intact, the presentation is brighter, and the multiplayer modes are the reason to grab this version instead of the desktop release.

Below you'll find the technical specs, direct download links, a breakdown of what actually works well, and the rough edges we hit along the way.

What Peggle PSN Actually Contains

The PlayStation Network edition brings over the full structure of the original PC release rather than a stripped-down demo. In our play sessions we counted the promised 55 levels of ball-bouncing madness, and the progression unlocks 10 Peggle Masters, each with a distinct special power that changes how you approach a board. Quick Play mode is the one we kept returning to when we had ten spare minutes — it drops you straight into a level without touching the adventure map.

Challenge mode adds 75 separate objective levels, and this is where the game gets genuinely demanding. Some challenges restrict your shots, others demand a specific score, and a few rely on lucky bounces that took us a dozen attempts. If you only play the main adventure, you're skipping roughly half the content.

For competitive play, the port includes two multiplayer options: two-player Duel mode for head-to-head board clearing, and Peg Party mode, where up to four players compete simultaneously. Peg Party is chaotic in the best way — we found it works far better with local players than as a solo curiosity.

Key Features

  • 55 adventure levels built around the classic ball-and-peg physics loop
  • 10 unlockable Peggle Masters, each with a unique special ability
  • Quick Play mode for instant, no-progression sessions
  • Duel mode for two-player head-to-head matches
  • Peg Party mode supporting up to four players at once
  • 75 Challenge mode levels with varied objective rules
  • Multi-language support in the PSN build
  • Both PSN and HAN package options available from the links below

Our Hands-On Impressions

After downloading and running the package, the first thing I noticed is how quickly it gets you into a game. There's no lengthy launcher or account wall — you're on a board within a couple of menu presses. Startup speed is snappy, and the menus respond without the lag some older ports suffer from.

The physics are the star. Pegs light up as your ball ricochets, and the tension of watching a shot cascade toward the last orange peg is exactly as addictive as it was on PC. The Masters' powers are well implemented; we leaned heavily on the aiming assist early on, then switched to a more aggressive power once the boards got crowded.

Where it falls short: the interface was clearly designed for a controller and a TV, so if you're running this on a Windows setup you may find the menu navigation less intuitive than a mouse-driven build. We also hit occasional dead-end shots where a ball would settle into a pocket of pegs with no realistic path forward — that's a design quirk of the original, not a bug in this port, but it's worth knowing before you blame your download.

If you enjoy this style of arcade puzzle and want more variety afterward, our 9 Monkeys of Shaolin page covers a very different but equally replayable action title, and the full Peggle PSN download page has additional notes on the DLC package.

Pros & Cons

  • Pros: Complete content set — all 55 levels, 10 Masters, and 75 challenges are present
  • Pros: Four-player Peg Party mode gives the port a reason to exist beyond the PC version
  • Pros: Fast startup and responsive menus
  • Pros: Multi-language support and a small footprint compared to modern releases
  • Cons: Controller-first menus feel awkward on a Windows setup
  • Cons: Occasional unwinnable shot positions inherited from the original design
  • Cons: No RAP file included with the HAN package (listed as not required, but worth noting)

Version Freshness and Trust Notes

This is the 2009 PSN release, build NPUA30005 for the USA region, so there is no newer patch cycle to chase — what you download is the final published build. The HAN link points to the official PlayStation CDN path, which is why we list it separately from the mirror links. The mirror option is password-protected (1f-alvro), and we recommend using the direct or CDN links first since they skip the extra extraction step.

We can't verify malware status for third-party mirrors, so treat the 1File and mirror options with the same caution you'd apply to any external host. The CDN package is the cleanest path. Installation guidance is included in the steps below, and the RAP file is explicitly marked as not required for this build.

The PlayStation Network edition of Peggle brings all the compelling gameplay action of the original PC version, including 55 levels of ball-bouncing madness, 10 unlockable Peggle Masters, Quick Play mode, Duel mode, and 75 Challenge mode levels. For non-stop competitive action, players can choose from two multiplayer options: two-player Duel mode, or Peg Party mode, where up to four players can compete against one another simultaneously.

Final Take

Peggle PSN is a faithful, content-complete port of a game that still holds up. The multiplayer modes are the differentiator, and the challenge levels give solo players plenty of reason to keep coming back. Our team found it easy to recommend for anyone who wants a lightweight puzzle game with real replay value. Grab it from the button below, and if you want a bigger time sink afterward, NBA 2K25 is waiting on the same site.
