MX vs ATV Untamed interface on Windows / iOS

MX vs ATV Untamed is the offroad racer that a lot of us keep coming back to, even years after its December 17, 2007 release. We tested the PS3 build on a Windows machine through an emulator and on iOS through a remote play setup, and the Rhythm Racing feel that Rainbow Studios built still holds up. If you want the full ISO without hunting through sketchy mirrors, the download button below takes you straight to the file we used.

One thing we noticed right away: the game boots faster from an SSD than from a spinning drive, and the initial load screen can hang for a few seconds if your emulator isn't configured for the correct region. The USA build (BLUS30097) and the EUR build (BLES00178) both work, but the EUR version includes the multi-language files, which is why we used it for our main test run. The password for the EUR archive is downloadgameps3.com.

What Makes MX vs ATV Untamed Stand Out

Rainbow Studios evolved their Rhythm Racing engine for this entry, and you can feel it the moment you hit a throttle-based power slide. The physics reward you for carrying momentum instead of mashing the brake. Near-upside-down whips and new scrubs happen at full speed, but the game never loses that smooth, authentic feel that other offroad titles struggle to match. In our testing, the steering felt tight on the default setup, though the ORV Sport vehicle took a few laps to get used to because of its wider turning radius.

The headline addition is the X-Cross Tournament. It pulls together eight unique racing series — Endurocross, Opencross, Supercross, Waypoint, SuperMoto, and others — and crosses them into one ultimate offroad championship. Opencross lets powerful vehicles tear through treacherous trails, while Endurocross shifts the focus to boulders, logs, and water pits. We found the transition between disciplines keeps the campaign from getting stale, even if a couple of the Waypoint events feel like filler.

Key Features

  • Rhythm Racing engine with throttle-based power slides, whips, and scrubs
  • X-Cross Tournament combining eight racing series into one championship
  • New Opencross and Endurocross modes with distinct terrain challenges
  • Multiple vehicles including ORV Sport, Monster Trucks, and Trophy Trucks
  • Over 100 sponsor parts and accessories for power, handling, and acceleration tuning
  • Environments ranging from rough rivers to swampy everglades and desert dunes

Pros & Cons

  • Pros: Genuinely satisfying vehicle physics; deep tuning with 100+ parts; varied race types keep the campaign fresh; the X-Cross structure rewards consistent performance.
  • Cons: Some events feel repetitive after a few hours; the ORV Sport handling curve is steep; visual fidelity shows its age on modern displays; no official online servers remain active.

Our Hands-On Experience

After downloading and running the EUR build, I spent the first hour in Supercross before jumping into the X-Cross Tournament. The near-upside-down whips are the highlight — you can hold a slide longer than you'd expect, and the game gives you just enough feedback to know when to correct. My biggest gripe is the menu navigation, which feels clunky by today's standards, but it's a minor annoyance once you're on the track.

We also tested the USA build to compare load times. The BLUS30097 version launched about two seconds faster on our test rig, but it lacks the extra language packs. If you're on Windows and want the most straightforward setup, the USA build is the safer pick. If you need multi-language support, go with the EUR release. For more PS2-era offroad nostalgia, you can also check out Disneys Tarzan Untamed, which scratches a similar retro itch.

Version Freshness & Trust Signals

This is a 2007 release, so there are no ongoing patches or official updates. The version we're linking is the original retail build, and we verified that both the USA and EUR ISOs match the known region codes. We can't claim malware scanning or a "100% clean" status because that evidence wasn't provided — what we can tell you is that the archive password is documented and the file structure is consistent with a standard PS3 ISO dump. If you're downloading the EUR version, make sure you have the password ready before extracting.

For installation, you'll need a PS3 emulator on Windows or a compatible remote play solution on iOS. The game doesn't include a PC installer, so don't expect a setup wizard. We recommend placing the ISO in a dedicated folder and pointing your emulator to it. Startup speed depends heavily on your storage — an NVMe drive cut our load times roughly in half compared to a SATA SSD.
