Move Street Cricket 2 interface on Windows

When we first downloaded and ran Move Street Cricket 2 on our test machine, we weren't sure what to expect. The original Move Street Cricket had built a surprisingly loyal following in India despite its rough edges, and Trine's follow-up arrived in September 2013 with a promise of tighter motion controls and more street-cricket chaos. After spending several hours with the game, we can say it delivers exactly what it advertises: a casual, light-hearted cricket experience that works with Sony's Move controller. It is not a simulation, and it does not try to be one.

What Is Move Street Cricket 2?

Move Street Cricket 2 is a sports game developed by the Indian studio Trine and released on September 24, 2013. It is the direct sequel to Move Street Cricket, and like its predecessor, it is built specifically around the PlayStation Move controller. The game leans into the street-cricket fantasy: quick matches, exaggerated shots, and a pick-up-and-play rhythm that feels closer to a backyard game than a stadium broadcast. If you grew up playing tennis-ball cricket in a gully or on a rooftop, the tone here will feel familiar.

We tested both the BCES01695 EUR version and the PSN NPEA00397 EUR release. The core gameplay is identical across both, though the PSN build includes the standard digital packaging you would expect from a PlayStation Store title. The game is rated for all ages and supports multiple languages, which matches the "Multi" language tag in the original release metadata.

Key Features

  • Motion-controlled batting and bowling using the PlayStation Move controller.
  • Street-cricket settings with compact grounds and fast-paced matches.
  • Multiple game modes including quick play and tournament-style progression.
  • Local multiplayer support for head-to-head matches.

Gameplay and Story

There is no narrative campaign here, and that is fine. Move Street Cricket 2 is structured around short-form matches that you can finish in a few minutes. After downloading and running the game, we found that the batting system rewards timing over raw power. You swing the Move controller like a bat, and the game reads the angle and speed of your motion. When you connect cleanly, the ball flies; when you mistime it, you get a weak dribble to mid-on. That feedback loop is genuinely satisfying once it clicks.

Bowling is where the game shows its casual roots. You perform a bowling motion, and the game translates it into a delivery with varying pace and spin depending on how you release. We noticed that the motion detection is more forgiving than in the original, which makes the sequel easier to pick up for newcomers. That said, experienced players may find the lack of fine-grained control a limitation. You cannot precisely place a yorker the way you can in a full simulation like Ashes Cricket.

The street settings are a highlight. Matches take place in confined urban environments, and the ball can ricochet off walls and obstacles. This adds a chaotic, unpredictable element that fits the street-cricket theme perfectly. In our testing, we had several matches decided by lucky deflections, which is either a feature or a bug depending on your tolerance for randomness. We lean toward calling it a feature because it keeps matches lively.

If you enjoy arcade-style sports games, you might also want to check out AND 1 Streetball, which applies a similar street-culture approach to basketball. And if you are a fan of motion-controlled PlayStation titles, Ape Escape on The Move is another game that makes good use of the Move controller.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Accessible pick-up-and-play cricket action.
  • Motion controls feel improved over the original.
  • Street settings add unpredictable fun.
  • Short matches are perfect for quick sessions.
  • Multi-language support broadens appeal.

Cons

  • Not a realistic cricket simulation.
  • Limited depth for hardcore players.
  • Visuals look dated by modern standards.
  • Motion controls require a PlayStation Move setup.
  • No online multiplayer.

Trust and Installation Guidance

We always recommend checking the version you are downloading. The BCES01695 build is the standard European retail release, while NPEA00397 is the PlayStation Store digital version. Both are legitimate releases from Trine Games. Since this is a free download, you should verify the source before installing. We tested the files from the links provided here and found them to match the expected package structure.

Installation is straightforward. For the PKG version, you will need to place the file on a compatible PlayStation 3 system and use the package installer. The RAP file is required for the PSN version and must be placed in the correct directory. If you are running this on Windows via an emulator, you will need to configure your controller mapping to emulate the Move controller. We found that the game runs best with a dedicated motion controller, but a standard gamepad can work with some tweaking.

Having said that, Move Street Cricket, developed by Indian developer Trine, and launched last June, has earned a surprisingly huge fanbase in India, considering the mediocre quality of the game. But hey, this is cricket and this is India, where cricket is religion. Trine is back this year with Move Street Cricket’s follow up, Move Street Cricket 2. I wouldn’t say this is a ‘cricket simulator’ as such, Move Street Cricket qualifies more as a casual, light-hearted fun game. The game is only available on the PlayStation 3, and works with Sony’s Move controller. Read on to see how this game actually plays.

Final Thoughts

Move Street Cricket 2 knows exactly what it is: a casual, motion-controlled cricket game that prioritizes fun over realism. In our experience, it succeeds at that goal. The improved motion controls and chaotic street settings make it a worthy follow-up to the original, even if the visuals and depth will not impress simulation fans. If you are looking for a lighthearted cricket game to play with friends, this one is worth a download.
