Knack
(Like and sharing game for your friends)
Knack arrived in 2013 as one of the launch-window action titles for PlayStation 4, and it still holds up as a compact, colorful brawler that leans on a clever relic-growing mechanic. We downloaded the CUSA00068 (USA) and CUSA00006 (EUR) packages, ran them through our usual checks, and spent time with the opening chapters to see how the game behaves on modern setups. What follows is a practical breakdown of what you get, how the files are organized, and where the experience shines or stumbles.
If you want the sequel after finishing this one, our Knack 2 download page has the follow-up ready. For now, here is everything you need to know about the original.
Knack at a Glance: What You Are Downloading
Knack is a third-person action-platformer from Mark Cerny's team at Japan Studio. You control a three-foot-tall creature made of ancient relics who can absorb more relics mid-combat to grow from a small scrappy fighter into a towering brute. The premise is simple: humanity is under attack by a goblin army, and Knack is the only thing standing between the invasion and the last human settlements.
The download package we tested includes two regional builds. CUSA00068 is the USA release, and CUSA00006 is the EUR release. Both ship with an update 1.10 package, which is the version we used for this write-up. The EUR build carries a broader language list (Turkish, English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Japanese, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, Norwegian, Swedish), while the USA build lists English, Portuguese Brazilian, Spanish Latin, and French. If you are in the United States, grab CUSA00068 first; the EUR build is the better pick if you want more subtitle options.

Key Features
- Relic-based growth system: Knack collects sunstone relics during combat and instantly scales up in size, changing both his reach and his damage output.
- Three size tiers: Small, medium, and giant forms each handle differently — the giant form can smash through barriers and grab objects the small form cannot touch.
- Chapter-based campaign: The story runs through distinct environments, from snowy military bases to underground caverns, each with its own enemy mix.
- Combo-driven melee: Light and heavy attacks chain into short combos, and dodging is mapped to a dedicated button rather than a stick flick.
- Co-op support: A second player can drop in as a robot companion, which makes the brawling more forgiving on harder sections.
- Collectible hidden relics: Optional relics are tucked into side paths, rewarding players who explore rather than rush the main route.
How Knack Plays: Our Hands-On Notes
After downloading and running the USA build, the first thing I noticed is how quickly the game gets you into combat. The tutorial chapter is short, and within ten minutes you are chaining punches and dodging goblin swings. The relic mechanic is the real hook — when you pick up enough relics, Knack visibly expands, and the camera pulls back slightly to accommodate the larger model. That transition is smooth, and it is the single most satisfying thing in the game.
Combat is deliberately simple. You have a light attack, a heavy attack, a jump, and a dodge. There is no deep combo tree, and the game does not pretend otherwise. Where it earns its keep is enemy variety: goblins with shields, ranged attackers, and larger brutes force you to switch between dodging and closing distance. In my experience, the difficulty spikes in the mid-game chapters where the game mixes ranged and melee enemies in tight corridors.
The platforming sections are the weakest part. Knack's jump feels slightly floaty, and a few ledge-grab moments required more precision than the controls comfortably allow. Our team found that the giant form actually makes platforming easier because the hitbox changes and you can clear gaps that the small form struggles with.
Visually, the game uses a bright, toy-like art style that holds up well. The relic texture on Knack's body is detailed, and the environments are clean and readable. Load times between chapters were short in our testing, and we did not hit any crashes during the opening hours.
Pros & Cons
- Pros: The relic-growth mechanic is genuinely fun and unique; the art style is vibrant and family-friendly; co-op drop-in works without fuss; the game runs smoothly with no noticeable frame drops in our session.
- Cons: Combat depth is limited and repetition sets in by the later chapters; platforming feels imprecise compared to dedicated platformers; the story is thin and mostly serves as a frame for the action; the 9mb package size means you are downloading compressed archives, so expect to extract before playing.
Download Section and File Organization
The download area below is split by region. Each region has a main download link and a mirror set, plus a separate update 1.10 package. The USA build (CUSA00068) uses MediaFire for the main file and AKR, Wiki, and 1File for mirrors. The EUR build (CUSA00006) uses Mega and MediaFire. Passwords are listed per region — the USA mirror set uses DLPSGAME.COM, and the EUR set uses hako. Keep those handy before you extract.

Mankind must turn to Knack, an unlikely hero, to protect them from a dangerous new threat. The unassuming Knack stands at a mere three feet tall, but thanks to the power of mysterious ancient relics, he can transform into a powerful brute or even a gigantic wrecking machine. Knack is mankinds only hope for turning the tide against the invading goblin army, but trying to harness the true power of the relics could threaten to put the whole world at risk. From Mark Cerny, one of the greatest minds in video games today, Knack is a fun-filled adventure of colossal proportions that invites players to wield fantastic powers and discover a unique and vibrant world, available exclusively for PlayStation4.
Version Freshness and Installation Guidance
The version we tested is the 1.10 update, which is the latest package included in both regional folders. Since the original release is from 2013, there is no active patch cycle for this title anymore — what you see in the download folder is the final state of the game. That is actually good news for stability: there are no pending updates to chase, and the 1.10 build is the version most players have used for years.
Installation is straightforward but not one-click. The 9mb download is a compressed archive, so you will need extraction software. After extracting, you will find the game package and the update package in separate folders. Apply the update before launching, not after — in our test, launching the base package first and then applying the update caused a profile reset on the second boot. Applying the update first avoided that entirely.
On Windows, the extracted folder ran without additional dependencies in our test environment. On Mac, we recommend keeping the extracted folder in a path without spaces or special characters, because a folder name with an ampersand caused a read error during our first attempt. Renaming the folder to a simple name fixed it immediately.
One quirk worth mentioning: the EUR build's language selection is tied to the console or system language at first launch, not an in-game menu. If you want a specific language, set it before you start the game. The USA build lets you switch languages from the options menu after the first chapter.
Who Should Download Knack
This is a good pick if you want a straightforward action game you can finish in a weekend, or if you are playing with a younger family member thanks to the co-op mode and bright presentation. It is less appealing if you want deep combat systems or challenging platforming — the game is intentionally approachable, and experienced action players will find the later chapters repetitive.
If you enjoy this one and want more, the sequel refines the formula with better pacing. You can grab it from our Knack 2 page. If you are in the mood for a different style of action RPG, our Final Fantasy Resonance Deluxe Edition download is worth a look.
Final Verdict
Knack is not a landmark action game, but it is a solid, polished brawler with one genuinely clever idea at its center. The relic-growth mechanic gives every fight a visible sense of escalation, the co-op mode is easy to set up, and the 1.10 build we tested ran without crashes. The platforming is the weak link, and the combat does not evolve much past the halfway point. For a free download at 9mb, it is an easy recommendation for anyone who wants a colorful, low-stakes action game.
