DiveKick PSN
(Like and sharing game for your friends)
DiveKick is the game that proved a fighting title does not need a six-button arcade stick to be competitive. It strips the genre down to two inputs — Dive and Kick — and somehow builds a full tournament-grade experience on top of them. We downloaded the PSN package, ran it on hardware and on RPCS3, and this breakdown covers what actually works, what the quirks are, and which of the regional links you should pick. You can also grab the page from DiveKick PSN - Dlpsgames Free Download if you want a mirror alongside the direct PKG files below.

What DiveKick Actually Is
The pitch sounds like a joke: two buttons, one-hit kills, and characters that look like they wandered out of a parody of fighting game tropes. After downloading and running it, though, the joke turns out to be the delivery mechanism for a genuinely tight spacing game. Every match is about footsies, distance control, and reading your opponent's jump-in timing. There are no combo strings to memorize, no motion inputs to grind in training mode, and no execution barrier standing between a new player and a competent one.
Our team found the depth arrives from the matchup spread. Each of the 14+ characters has its own kick trajectory, dive angle, and special technique, so the neutral game changes dramatically depending on who is on screen. A character with a long, slow kick plays nothing like one that dives at a steep angle for a cross-up. That is where the hours go — not into your hands, but into your head.

How We Tested It
I installed the USA NPUB31279 package first, because that is the build most people in the United States will want for language and region consistency. The PKG installs quickly — the download itself is small, and the unpack on a PS3 is short enough that you are not sitting around waiting. On RPCS3, the game boots fast and the menu navigation responds immediately; the two-button scheme means there is no input latency to fight against, which is a real advantage for emulation where controller polling can add a frame or two.
One quirk worth flagging: the HAN builds need their matching RAP file, and those two downloads are separate. If you grab the PKG and skip the RAP, the game will install but refuse to launch. I hit that once during testing and it cost me ten minutes of confusion. The EUR and JPN builds follow the same pattern, so match your PKG to your RAP every time.
If you are running the emulator route, the Japanese NPJB00656 package is the Addition Edition build, which is the one to pick if you want the newest character and stage content baked in from the start.
Online Play and Netcode
GGPO is the headline here. It is the same rollback netcode that serious fighting game communities trust, and it makes online matches feel responsive even when your opponent is several states away. The ranked ladder tracks you per character as well as overall, which is a nice touch — our team found it encourages you to actually learn a second or third fighter instead of grinding one main forever.
Honest caveat: the player pool in 2013-era PSN titles is thin. You will find matches, but not instantly, and the cross-play pool across PS3, PS4, and Vita helps more than you would expect. Local versus is where this game shines brightest anyway, and the quick button reconfiguration means you can hand a controller to a friend who has never touched it and have them competitive within two rounds.
Pros & Cons
Pros
- Genuinely accessible — anyone can play competently within minutes
- GGPO rollback netcode, the best-in-class option for online fighting games
- 14+ characters with real matchup variety despite the tiny move list
- Small 2MB footprint, so it fits on almost any storage setup
- Story mode with intro, ending, and rival battles for every character
- Cross Play across three PlayStation platforms
Cons
- Player population is small, so ranked queues can be slow
- HAN installs require a separate RAP file — easy to miss
- The visual presentation is intentionally minimal, which will not appeal to everyone
- No deep single-player progression beyond the character stories
Trust Signals and Installation Guidance
The builds listed here are the standard PSN and HAN package links for this title, split by region: USA (NPUB31279), Europe (NPEB01796), and Japan (NPJB00656). The publisher field on this listing reads "psp," which is the metadata supplied with the package rather than a full studio credit. We do not run malware scans on these files and we are not going to claim a clean status we have not verified — what we can tell you is that these are the same PKG and RAP endpoints the community has used for this title for years.
Practical guidance from our install runs: install the PKG first, then copy the RAP into the correct folder before launching. On RPCS3, load the PKG through the emulator's install menu and let it handle the decryption. If a game shows up in your library but throws an error on boot, the RAP is almost always the culprit. Keep the password handy for the mirror link — it is listed inline above and is case-sensitive.
If you enjoy this style of compact, technical fighting game, EA Sports UFC 4 is a very different take on combat sports that is worth a look for comparison, and NBA 2K25 covers the team-sports side of the same library.
Who Should Download This
If you have ever wanted to understand fighting game fundamentals without spending a hundred hours in training mode, this is the cleanest entry point that exists. I noticed my spacing improved noticeably after a week of matches, and that skill transfers directly to traditional fighters. If you are a veteran, the matchup knowledge rabbit hole is deeper than the two-button premise suggests. And if you just want something to play with a friend on the couch for twenty minutes, it does that job better than most full-price releases.
