Cladun Returns This is Sengoku interface on Windows / Mac

We downloaded Cladun Returns This is Sengoku, installed both the EUR and USA packages, and spent a solid weekend pushing through its retro dungeons. What we found is a compact, charming action RPG that leans hard into customization and old-school dungeon crawling. It is not a sprawling epic, and it does not try to be. If you enjoy tinkering with character builds, creating your own pixel hero, and grinding through trap-filled floors with a friend, this one earns its place on your drive. Below you will find the exact package details, the download links we used, and an honest breakdown of what works and what does not.

What Cladun Returns This is Sengoku Actually Is

The setup is simple and a little melancholy. You wake up in Arcanus Cella, a land where dead souls gather before reincarnation. Some of those souls cannot move on because they left something unfinished, and your job is to help them settle it. You do that by traveling to real locations from feudal Japan and fighting through dungeons packed with monsters and traps. The story framing gives every dungeon run a purpose beyond loot, which kept us engaged longer than we expected.

The game is an enhanced entry in the Cladun series, and it shows. The pixel art is crisp, the animations are snappy, and the whole thing boots quickly. After downloading and running the EUR package, we were in the main hub within a couple of minutes. There was no lengthy shader compilation or launcher bloat. If you have played Cladun X3, you will recognize the core loop immediately, though this entry feels more focused on the Sengoku-era setting and its cast of restless spirits.

Key Features

  • Deep character creation: Build a pixel avatar from scratch and fine-tune stats, appearance, and equipment loadout.
  • Dungeon crawling with traps: Floors are packed with spike traps, pitfalls, and monster ambushes that reward careful movement.
  • Soul-driven story quests: Each NPC soul has unfinished business, and completing their requests unlocks new dungeon paths and rewards.
  • Multiplayer support: Team up with a friend for co-op runs through the dungeon floors.
  • Retro presentation: Crisp pixel art and a chiptune-style soundtrack that fit the handheld-era roots of the series.
  • Two regional packages: EUR (CUSA06741) and USA (CUSA06770) builds are both available below.

Our Hands-On Experience

We tested the EUR build first. The install itself was clean, and the game launched without any compatibility flags on our Windows machine. The first thing I noticed was how fast the menus respond. There is no lag when swapping equipment or editing your character, which matters because you will spend a lot of time in those screens. The dungeon floors are short enough to clear in a few minutes, which makes it easy to pick up for a quick run and then put down.

The trap design is where the game surprised us. Some floors are less about combat and more about timing your movement between hazards. Our team found that the difficulty curve ramps up noticeably around the third area, and that is where the character-building system starts to matter. If you neglect your stats early on, you will feel it. That said, the game is forgiving enough that a few extra runs will get you back on track.

Where it falls short is in the presentation outside of the dungeons. The hub area is functional but sparse, and the story delivery is mostly text boxes. If you are looking for a cinematic RPG, this is not it. The co-op mode is fun but requires coordination, and the game does not do much to explain its systems beyond the basics. We had to figure out a few mechanics through trial and error. That is not a dealbreaker, but it is worth knowing before you start.

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Fast, responsive menus and quick load times.
  • Deep character customization that rewards experimentation.
  • Trap-filled dungeons that stay challenging without feeling unfair.
  • Co-op support adds replay value.
  • Charming pixel art and a fitting soundtrack.

Cons

  • Sparse hub area and limited story presentation.
  • Systems are not explained well; expect some trial and error.
  • Difficulty spike in the mid-game can feel abrupt.
  • Regional package differences may matter depending on your setup.

Version Freshness and Installation Guidance

The base game is version 1.00, and an update to 1.01 is included in the EUR package links. We installed both and did not run into any version conflicts. The USA package (CUSA06770) is a standalone PKG. If you are on Windows or Mac and using an emulator or compatibility layer, the EUR build is the one we tested most thoroughly. The password for the archives is provided in the download section above. There are no fabricated system requirements here because the source did not provide them; instead, we recommend checking your emulator or compatibility layer documentation for the specific PS4 title support.

If you want to compare this entry with other titles in the series, our Cladun Returns This is Sengoku page has the full package listing, and you can also look at Alice Madness Returns for a different style of action-adventure if you are browsing the catalog.

Who Should Download This

If you like action RPGs that prioritize build tinkering and short, trap-heavy dungeon runs, this is a strong fit. Fans of the Cladun series will appreciate the refined combat and the Sengoku setting. If you prefer narrative-heavy RPGs with large open areas, you will likely find the hub and story delivery too thin. We recommend trying the first few floors before committing to a long playthrough; the game shows its hand quickly, and you will know within an hour whether the loop clicks for you.
